See Key Success Tips & Share Your Own. You Might Land In The Spotlight, Too!
Welcome to our new feature -- Tip Of The Month -- focused on the best ways to succeed as a networker on Alignable.
Many quotes and fantastic success stories have emerged via our Power Networking Group Get-Together that occurs every Wednesday at 1 p.m. EST. That's because several of the Top 50 most-supportive networkers on Alignable attend that session weekly. (To join yourself, click here).
Our networking gurus are very open to giving tips those who could benefit from their experience -- from newbies to others who have yet to fully engage on Alignable.
One of those Top 50 superstars is Victor Felix, who shared the following quote during our session last week:
Victor tells us that he makes it a habit to seek the best people to connect with each day on Alignable, a practice that fuels his ongoing business-building efforts.
Other networking tips from our most-engaged members include:
- Abandon the "hard-sell" approach. It's a major turnoff here on Alignable
- Ask how you can help other members. Be service-oriented
- Find out more about your peers' businesses. If they're interested in your biz, they'll ask about it
- Give your advice freely, eventually members will recognize your expertise.
So, what are your top networking tips?
Please let us know below and we might just choose your quote to highlight in other newsletter posts or even as a future "Tip Of The Month."

Listen Attentively! When chatting with others, really tune in. Paying attention shows you care and helps you get where they're coming from. Listening to people is the best way to understand them.
Before reaching out to connect with professionals who share common interests or are in your desired industry be sure to check out their profile. Read the recommendations. And any posts they have. Then, you can truly personalize the connection request with a brief message explaining why you'd like to connect.
XYZ - eXamine Your Zeal. Piggy backing on @Victor Felix’s tip, this acronym can also be effective in giving purpose to your networking. I always say, connect with Alignable members like you would when entering their business. One thing I likely would say is, “How’s it going?” Or, “How are you?” And then continue with a statement or inquiry related to your purpose of connecting. Now how’s that for a little more fun from what Victor came up with. Got my creativity flowing. 😊
Be yourself!!! Be genuine, kind and understanding. I have found that marketing is a hard sale for businesses—especially those on a tight budget. My best sales pitch is offering some advice on what they can do to improve on their own and be there when they are ready to take the next step.
Be the “Go-Giver”. Help people get what they are looking for and you’ll find that you end up getting what you’re looking for too!
Make networking a part of your life and talk to everyone. You never know who might be able to connect you with your next great business connection!👏🏻👏🏻😃
My tip for every business: Have a vision, but take baby steps.
Our networking community - Networking for Business - focus is on masterminding topics that help people grow their businesses. We share ideas and experiences. No sales pitches because you can't pitch until you build the "know, Like, & Trust" factor.
This is a great story about Victor, Chuck. Always Be Connecting with the right people is so important when it comes to networking. Follow the ABCs.
Engaging consistently in online events. Build credibility by sharing success stories and testimonials. Always look for opportunities to connect people in your network. Focus on listening more than speaking to ensure your contributions are relevant. Remembering to follow up with a thank-you note after meetings. Effective networking is about forming meaningful connections, not just collecting contacts.
