I tend to focus on experiences, rather than 'stuff'.  I make it a point to choose convenient local experiences that are entertaining and create terrific memories.  Like a local restaurant gift card and 2 tickets to a concert at the Center Performing Arts, is an evening shared with friends enjoying dinner, then a music, a play, or a dance performance.   I'm also gifting to a number of people two tickets to a 'Night Out' at Center for Arts.  They bring a friend,  choose  choose their evening - clay, painting, drawing, fused glass.  Loads of fun and a wonderful shared experience. Evening includes a delicious dinner, beverages, artistic experience, and a beautiful memento of their evening that each one created.  I've also added to my list of gifts to gift private 'Meet & Greet' with a visiting performer, artist or sports hero after or before a concert, which can be thrilling for someone who's a big fan!
