The best greens start at the grower! US Greens is Kansas-based, family-owned and operated. We have been in the alfalfa and cereal grass business for three generations and over 70 years. We plant, grow, harvest, dehydrate, pellet, freeze, and mill the greens, maintaining meticulous control throughout the process.
Our founders met in Kansas in 1946 and started our parent company. To meet the demands of their rapidly-growing business, they partnered with a local machinist to design and build the Field Queen - the first self-propelled forage harvester in the world. In one process it cuts, chops, and loads crops right in the field, ready for immediate transfer to the mill for dehydration. The Field Queen is still considered to be the best method for harvesting field-grown greens.
