(more) Hi there Stacey!  Of course (wherever the law allows) a well-planned, well-purposed raffle can be a great way to bring visibility and growth to whatever you are planning. As a community service outreach for our marketing business, we offer scarves to be raffled off by local businesses in support of breast cancer awareness. While we do not directly manage the raffle, we do get the benefit of connecting with like-minded supporters and we are able to provide something of value to the community.  It's a win-win. Every business should have some an activity for outreach. Millennials are very much into charitable endeavors. Many of today's consumers are looking just as hard at what a company is giving back to the community as what the company is selling. Much Success.

(more) Greetings Michael! You sort of answered your own question when you mentioned: "...after we got engaged". "Engagement" is one of the key elements in building successful business relationships on social media platforms. Like building  an online romantic relationship..."you meet people online, to get them offline." (That's just a supposition on my part, I've been married for 40 years, so I really can't speak to online dating, but I know the concept works because one of my children meet their spouse online and they are celebrating their 15th anniversary in two days.)  But I digress. When you say "who has the time?", that is an indicator (to me) that you may not fully appreciate the big picture. When you provide useful, valuable information to the right audience, they want to "know more". The instant they want to "know more" is when you lead them from online...to your database, which of course is offline. There you can put them into campaigns and "nurture" the budding relationship.  If this is not happening for you, then perhaps you are talking to the wrong audience or you are not offering them what THEY consider to be useful valuable information...or heavens forbid ...you are not recognizing a valid request to "know more", or not responding or not following up.  You say you are terrible at being "the first to reach out". It's your content that should be "reaching out"...just work on that...and be sure to put your content in front of your best audiences.  It works.

I started my business last century ;) when folks had to actually meet people face-to-face and, collect business cards and do lots of follow-up phone calls. My biggest challenge back then was speaking to people all day who told me "I don't really need a Web site to grow my business!" Well, I'm glad I convinced them otherwise. These days, most of my clients come to my business through referral and the deep business relationships I've created with my Clients.  I have shown them the benefits of growing their business on the Internet and yes, I still meet folks face-to-face and I still do lots of follow-up phone calls. Here's my advice: "Think Long-Term Relationships, Not Short-Term Sales!" Best of success to you...in this century!

If you mean "SERVICE" because you want a place to store all of your emails/attachments and whatever... then you can't beat the advice from Maury Kosh from The Performance Based Marketing Group GSuite is the best. Not trying to be vicious, but I need to ask you a question: What are YOUR own suggestions for advertising your business?  What are your goals? What are your expectations? Who is your Ideal Customer? Alignable can be one of the most powerful platforms for advertising B2B and yet when I checked your profile, I see that you have not completed the most basic information. Is there a reason why not? One of the best advertising tips I can offer: "Help Others Help You". When other business owners take the time to visit at your profile, whether in Aliganble, LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube, Google+  or any other platform, make sure you've provided a COMPLETE profile full of "WIIFT" (What's In It For Them.) This encourages other businesses (even if they will not be your Client) to share your information and alerts them that you are serious about making connections. Best of success to you ...and I hope to see your full profile in Alignable soon.

(more) Greetings Shelley, and congratulations on your growing business. While "wording" in your marketing campaigns will be important, knowing your Clients needs will provide you with much of the wording that's required to create sales and grow your brand.  As a Marketing Services Provider, we start by advising our Clients to wrap their products and services around their Clients most precious needs. Unfortunately, many business owners often start a campaign with unsupported assumptions and by offering what they have to sell, before learning clearly, and exactly who their Clients really are and exactly what their Clients truly want. Then on to your brand...you have mentioned several complimentary services, however, a confused mind takes no action. Do be careful about creating a single focus for your business. In trying to please everyone, we can end up pleasing no one. It can take quite a significant budget to build a steady Client base when you are not absolutely certain of your goals and objectives.   Best of success to you.

I really don't understand your question.  If it's a matter of trust in the payment system, then you should donate with the payment processor that makes you feel more comfortable, (if that option is provided.) If it's trust in the organization that you are giving to, then the payment system is moot.  Since you mentioned receipts...if it's record keeping that concerns you, it shouldn't as whatever payment method you use will provide you with a record. (more) Great question Dawn, and also great to see all of the various responses.  Quite honestly,  I believe it’s good business for every business s to have a referral process in place. I also believe that the process should be consistent, in writing, and unique for your business needs. Because many of our referrals come from our Client base, and we are in marketing, it goes without saying that we are already on board for helping our referrers grow…that’s our job and we love it. So what else can we provide in the way of a “Thank You” for a referral? Valuable  services at no extra fee  for our existing Clients Reduced fees on existing Client services Reduced fees on the potential Client’s services Cash back/discounts on existing Client invoices Finder’s fees for non-Clients (if qualified) Why do we provide different ways and means  of rewarding those in our circle who send us a potential Client?  Because there are so many levels on which we can build a relationship with a “referral”. Even if the relationship does not convert into a sale, we always want there to be a clear and present “Thank You” provided to the referrer. With that said,  here is one point I’d like to throw out: For those who feel as if they have provided a “referral”, simply by telling someone about our business, we really appreciate your sharing, but that usually does not constitute a referral. In the other-way-round, when you provide us with an introduction and contact info to a potential client, that is considered a referral, and we look forward to offering you a reward for that! Much Continued Success to You!

That’s a fair question for some and for others it might be a little bit more challenging. As a company that produces video promotions for our small business Clients,  then you must know my answer is a resounding YES. And because we create video commercials, we are very “in-tune” with small businesses working on tight budgets who feel they just can’t afford to add videos to their marketing plan. Excuses, excuses! To them, we say YES you can and YES you should use videos to market and promote your business. It’s not the technology or the budget that should be an issue, it’s the thought and purpose that should cause you to pause and it will be worth every penny you invest. Don’t even think about should you use video to promote your business, just concentrate on getting started. If you are already using videos but you don’t think they are working for you, don’t give up.  They always work (ALWAYS) if you figure out the “5 Ws and the H” (Who, What, When, Where, Why), upfront. The “How” will be much easier to accomplish. Best of success
