try to see if you already have an existing google plus page by searching for it, and if you don't see one, you can follow the steps by entering in your basic profile information.

however, the step a lot of my clients miss out on is failing to VERIFY their listing once they create it.

When you submit your listing, Google will confirm that is in fact your physical address by sending a postcard to the mailing address you list when you're building out the profile. The postcard they send to you has a blue verification code you will need to REENTER into your google listing.

It sounds more complicated than it really is. There are over 100 search engines, and each one has its own specific process for listing/claiming/verifying businesses online.

It takes us about 4-6 weeks to get through them all, but SO worth it in the end.
