Donovan’s Reef Restaurant is a warm and inviting American grille located in the historic Branford Lock Works building in Branford center.

Donovan's Reef offers the perfect combination of food, drink, and fun in a unique family atmosphere.

Steve takes his passion for food and entertainment and instills it into his staff, of family and friends who are all too happy to provide you with the best of service. Whether it is a quiet lunch for two any day of the week, a relaxing Happy Hour Monday to Friday, dinner with that special someone or a night out with friends with our very affordable prices Donovan’s Reef is the place to be.

No matter whether you spend your time at Donovan’s Reef on the main dining floor or in the unique loft dining area on Friday and Saturday evenings, you can enjoy Donovan’s full menu and daily specials. Our well-stocked Loft room area also provides table seating and offers the full menu. When dinner service is complete on Friday and Saturday join us on the main floor for live music from various talented local artists.

Donovan’s Reef can also be reserved for any special occasion for parties of 30 to 100 or, if you prefer, we will gladly provide our catering services at your location as well!

Donovan’s Reef is open 7 days a week from 11:30AM to 1AM Sunday through Thursday and from 11:30AM to 2AM Friday and Saturday. The full menu is served until 10PM Monday thru Saturday and until 9PM on Sunday night. The late night menu is available until 11PM Monday through Saturday and until 10PM on Sunday night. Day or night we have something just for you. Meet us at the Reef!

We have been frequent diners at "The Reef" for many years and (after visiting) our relatives have also become regulars. Whether it's a family get-together, stopping in after work for apps and drinks or just don't feel like cooking - more often than not we end up at Donovan's Reef in Branford. For special occasions (birthdays, Father's Day, etc.) our extended family always knows what to get (for each other). It's gift cards and quite often a gift card from Donovan's which always brings a smile! Lastly - and this is the straight truth - since the day Donovan's first opened their doors I can say without reservation their food seems to get better with every visit - their service never wavers from great to excellent to freaken' awesome every time. Also maybe for more conventional old school marketing, bring poster boards or smaller to ALL gyms, Crossfits in the area to hang on their community board. Fitness PPL are the crowd you want.... They tend to be likely to be out on the nightscene, feel invinsible from the high of working out and tend to drink more because of working out. Givers a sense of entitlement to blow off steam lol.
