Hi Jim, I see you are based out of Florida. You may be aware that PIP Auto is different in every state. In NJ there is a Deluge of paperwork and the billing fee schedule is different due to the Automobile Cost Reduction Act of 1998. Many types of Docs do take care of crash victims with varying levels of injury where there are short and long term health issues associated. Some Doctors acquire post doctoral training regarding these injuries and the impact associated with them as briefly noted above. It is a sub-specialty in Chiropractic and one can receive a significant amount of training especially in Brain and Spine related injuries etc. etc. thus becoming an expert in that field. The reality is that when your patients get injuries in relation to this kind of incident, and they and their family members will, it is important that the treating physician, like myself, understand these injuries, know how to diagnose them and know how to treat them and which usually needs to be a concerted effort among multiple types of providers. I have found, through years of experience, that many Doctors, MD's, DO's and DC's, we are all physicians, miss diagnose these injuries because they lack the specific training necessary.Therefore, it is important to ask the Doctor if they, in fact, are trained in this type of trauma work.
