About Us

David started his Art Directing career at TBC, an Ad agency in Baltimore, MD, where he ultimately became Associate Creative Director. His clients at the agency included Blue Cross Blue Shield of Maryland, Micron Computers, the Baltimore Orioles Baseball Club, the Maryland Lottery, Schmidt Baking Co., Manor Hill Foods and Baltimore Aquarium.
In 1997, David returned with his wife and children to his native Maine. He joined L.L. Bean where he eventually became the Sr. Art Director for the Men’s, Travel, Outdoor and Corporate Sales catalogs.
After nearly 5 years, David left L.L. Bean to pursue freelance Design and Art Directing. His award-winning design work has encompassed packaging, annual reports, advertising, website design, logo and identity work, direct mail and more. His clients have included: D.L.Geary Brewing, Maine College of Art, Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research, Portland Symphony Orchestra, IDEXX Laboratories, MaineHealth, Martin’s Point, Crestline, United Way of Greater Portland, and many more.
In addition to his own clients, he has strategic partnerships with Surprise Advertising, St. Clair Media, Mojo Brand Creative, among others.

As a freelancer, I have been working remotely for years, so my business model hasn't changed. Patience, flexibly and empathy will more in demand than ever. I think word of mouth (likely through social media) will be our best marketing tool.

Whether you intend it or not, every visual choice is communicating something about your company. Are you big or small? Friendly or exclusive? Organized or unpredictable? Everyone uses subconscious cues to size you up, often before knowing anything else about your company. When you accurately present your company in a clear, professional, and compelling way, you will be setting the stage for positive interactions with your company. In short, it is an important extension of your brand.

I love solving problems with my clients. I've had many return clients tell me they are excited to see the visual solutions I provide after working closely with them.
