2020 was great as we “pivoted” right into debt. Anyone have a real solution for the event and entertainment industry and for us to clear say 200k a year after tax? That’s what it cost to survive here in the San Francisco Bay Area annually. At least for us it does.

Not only has the pandemic killed so many people needlessly, it’s ruined many businesses and lives along the way....
My heart goes out to all the families who have lost loved ones, and all those businesses that have tanked.

C19 has made it impossible to have employees. We are an event company that has had all our events cancelled in 2020 and no bookings in 2021.

Hello.... My business is in the entertainment & event industry. We have been shut down and crushed by C19 since 2/8/20. We have had all our events cancelled in 2020 and beyond. Therefore, reopening of schools has zero effect on us.
On a side note, I feel bad for all the students missing out...

On a side note, I feel bad for all the students missing out on a quality education and normal school experience. Bless those teachers for doing their best. Bless those firefighters for trying to save California.
College kids are being short changed too. What about the student athletes? This entire c19 is a tragedy.
Kids are a privilege, not a distraction so love them home or not...I have two teenage kids in high school, wife is a teacher so I “get it”.

Follow your dreams and ambitions. Knowing what you don’t know is one of the biggest advantages to potential success. Depending on what line of work your venturing into, surrounding yourself with the best team is key as well.

Jeaze, Zoom, is my client and they do "live events" for their employees. There is a reason for that and I hope that "on-line" events do not become the "new-norm". If it does ("yikes"), then the restaurants, hospitality, events and entertainment industry...

Hey, if that happens I can sell my cabin instead of having family get togethers on a gorgeous wild river setting! "Its all about the money".
COVID 19- Front line business disaster story: All our events have been cancelled for 2020, so there is something really to be said for a "virtual" life. However, there really needs to be balance though (I hope). Let's be real, do you want your kids living a virtual life more than they already do? Do you want them home from school most the time, not going out to restaurants, proms, doing virtual individual and team sports, not having actual people to people interactions? A virtual life sounds horrible to me. Again a virtual / real life "balance will make sense" . Your article is great still:>)
We provide corporate holiday parties, gatherings, networking events and conventions. "Fast thinkers to make lots of "Zoom-aloot" is the race now. I thought Cannabis was the "new frontier". I am staying away from that too.

Well, I had a little guidance from one representative from my bank to "TRY" and get a SBA Loan. Loan hasn't happened so far. Government won't let us apply for a Economic Disaster Relief Program as they are basically "sold-out".
Back to vendors- I do love our vendors and they are mostly...

Back to vendors- I do love our vendors and they are mostly artists, sole proprietors etc. That's the "small guy" folks and they are really hurting in most cases. The government has not stepped up to help these folks even though I see daily on TV from Washington they say they are... Every vendor and business I have spoken to has not been helped.. What's the old saying? " Show Us The Money"

On a serious note: check national health services for advice and posts. Any virus, flu etc. should be taken seriously. I am not a doctor but merely an event designer and producer. Note: We have had 13 events cancel in last 4 days.
We promote a “ safety first “ attitude and in that scope health, wellness etc. is included.
As a matter of fact, we have a “ Allegra FC” soccer team and are league champs and recently won The Las Vegas Cup. I didn’t realize how “healthy “ Las Vegas was until last week😀
