The problem as I understand what you are saying is you paid the premium, but you are not listed on, the policy as a secondary owner, the owner of the policy is your mother. Your mother as the principal owner of the policy and you are not listed on the policy. Since you are not listed on the declaration page as a secondary owner. You have no rights under the policy. So if there is no will this will go to probate and the check will be made out to the estate of your mother and the mortgagee if there is one.
Maybe, but it is sure that the Reinsurance rates are going up at least 15-20% which means insurance rates are going up because insurance companies can not eat that large of an increase in cost on top of the additional cost cause by the Virus.
