Until 1980, I was employed as controller for a manufacturing company. I wanted to be independent. So I left in March to start as a sole practicing CPA in a small office, 1 desk and 2 chairs, a dial-up phone, and a dream to become an entrepreneur. A few months in and 2 clients, I purchased a small practice; and then another. That is how I grew.
