I find the key is to keep communication going, and show excitement in their involvement.  Make sure to share with them daily or at the very least weekly.  Support and lead by example. I talked to a young man about what it was like for him with cystic acne in high school and working in the service industry. He was months away from graduation and feeling bad about having photos taken. I set up a coffee meeting with his mother at his request and presented her with my option. 3 weeks later his grandmother commented on his skin and couldn’t believe the improvement! I will never forget the smile on his face when I saw him a week before grad. It’s always nice to read about success stories by when you have your own to share, it reminds you why you do it

I prefer referrals always because that usually means that there is a connection of some sort to the people involved and hopefully a sense of trust.
