It is a three-hour, guided walking tour which offers food tastings from eight unique eateries and historical presentations. We offer two different tours: 1) Our original tour "A Taste of Carlsbad", which includes ethnic and specialty restaurants, 2) Indulgence Food Tours which visit many of the newest and tastiest eateries in town. How We Got Started
I was inspired to start this food tour business because I thought it would be a great activity for the town of Carlsbad. I had gone on one while vacationing in Carmel and loved it. I thought well it works well in Carmel, why not Carlsbad. Afterall, Carlsbad has a cute little village with history.

Carlsbad Food Tours would love to be part of this featured event. We are a new business in town and have been working closely with the Chamber of Commerce, as well as many of the local restaurants. Carlsbad Food Tours is a 3 hour guided walking tour with tastings at 7 unique eateries and wine tasting. We also included historical and cultural presentation during the tour. It has been a wonderful experience working with so many other Carlsbad local businesses. The Chamber promotes a feeling of togetherness for the businesses. With the food tour business, I also belong to an internet based community of supporter: Food Tour Pros. Prior to launching this business we attended a conference on how to start up a food tour business at Food Tour Pros in Chicago. Shane Kost is the owner of both
Food Tour Pros and Chicago Food Planet Food Tours, one of the largest food tours in the business. All of the students that go through his program are then connected via Basecamp. In basecamp we can ask other food tour operators question or get feed back on something we are thinking about doing, etc. It is a fabulous support group for our business.
