How do you deal with a client who takes FOREVER to pay?

I have tried to rectify the problem in stages. If there is no cooperation on their part,  I change their net 30 terms to net 15, then if that does not work I put them on a COD basis or payment before delivery. By the time the client gets to the last stage they pretty well know they were responsible for the demise of their credit privileges. 
What kind of interview questions do you ask applicants?

I would ask, of all the products/or services that we offer which one of them would you either 'like' or 'could use.' Ask them to go into detail. That gives me an idea of how they like  might personally connect with my business/or product. I would also ask if they owned or used this service for... If you are a winemaker, you want to employ someone who likes to drink wine..  if you are vet, you want to employ someone who has had pets etc etc.

I would say networking but networking is becoming more and more challenging; its very hit and miss but it appears to me networking is one of the major factors in promoting local business. Getting involved in the community with your product is demanding on your time, but can be very beneficial. If... Which do you feel is MOST important: marketing your product/service first or marketing you?

I market myself first so that I can begin to build that relationship then I market my product second. I want to build trust first, that makes my product easier to introduce and explain.
