To understand what we do as Structural Chiropractors and how it is different, it is first necessary to understand "traditional" chiropractic care. Most traditional chiropractors focus on "symptom management" (the temporary increase in range of motion, reduction of pain and decreased muscle tension). And to be fair, there are a number of traditional chiropractors in the area who are great at what they do. In this office, we do things a little differently. We take an engineering approach to the spine to detect and correct the underlying, primary cause of the problem. Not only do we want you to feel better, we want to SEE evidence that your spine has changed for the better. To accomplish this, we incorporate a number of objective indicators and measurements, including Precision Structural X-ray Analysis using the latest in Digital X-ray Technology for the most specific details with minimal exposure.
We also work a lot with pregnant women and children. Though we are not going to be taking X-rays on these folks, we still incorporate a number of other objective indicators to figure out exactly how we can help them.
Prenatal chiropractic care can have greater benefits than just helping relieve the aches and pains of pregnancy. Regular chiropractic care throughout pregnancy has been shown to decrease labor time by 6-8 hours. And more importantly, considering that a developing baby is 100% dependent on it's mama for literally everything it needs, it makes sense that her spine and nervous system are functioning properly during pregnancy to optimize the environment for the developing baby.
