"The Front Range team gently works at your pace to alleviate your pain all the way through the goal of repair, healing, and happiness!
Tim, Mary Ellen, Dawn, Amy, Jennifer, and occasional students work in harmony to get you to your goal as fast and as comfortable as is possible.
While all of us try different cures for what ails us, physical therapy is the only way to actually change the problem permanently (other than surgery). That's why it's so important to learn how to move your body for correction and adjustment for enduring success! "

In order to do this, though, you're going to have to state this action in writing that they need to sign. Oh wait . . .what about collecting their credit card number with the order (take 1/4 as a deposit)? Don't make ANY orders without a deposit. Good luck!

On the inside of the card you make your announcement of the move, hours, etc. and that using this postcard on your next purchase takes off X dollars. You could also build a lighted kiosk and park it at a high traffic area, but you have to pay rent for that space, etc.

I usually schedule an interview when I'm really too busy to actually interview them. I'll ask them to answer the phone or do whatever comes up during the time they are here. That's the PERFECT way to see if that individual can 1) interpret what you want and show if they can do it the way you had asked, and, 2) their degree of cooperation and their response to being asked to do something unexpected, and, 3) their reaction to authority. For me, it hardly matters if they have ANY thing you usually find on a resume; I want their level of initiative and ability to follow through on the fly. Any other gifts they can add to the mix are just that more enchanting!

The fastest and easiest way to get this going gangbusters is to visit all the groomers in a 25+ mile radius armed with CARDS and fliers! You SHOULD also feature their cards proudly in your place!!!! Be SURE to return every 6-9 months to refresh your cards and bring along a new flier with events or promotions. Your flier should picture the type of dogs that you dream of having in your facility. This is even better when you show the dogs in some fun play among themselves and kissing or petting personnel. Have your local groomers teach you what you can or should and shouldn't do with dogs in your care. Ditto for vet. Networking builds great friendships!
You SHOULD have a separate "clean" room for extra activities, below, but it
doesn't have to be big. Have another sequestered spot for SICK or INJURED dogs on
the premises (it happens and you want to be prepared for it).
Nothing more expensive than a sick dogs who spreads it or a dog that passes while there (yes, it happens).Call a local (customer, hopefully) photographer to have them take some GOOD shots for your advertising! Hire them seasonally for seasonal photo shoots for your day care/boarding customers. Call a local vet (customer, hopefully) to set up monthly vaccination clinics. Call your local Anesthesia-free service provider and do that monthly or quarterly too! I try to make friends with my printing customers for all kinds of forms and stuff. BARTER! Oh, and, get a hold of a local dog trainer and include 1 hr agility and/or swimming and/or training per day in a weekly package! Don't skimp out on brushing out that dog hair at a reasonable rate.Get a CPR & First Aid CD and make certain that YOU and your staff knows it by
heart. Also consider 24 hour coverage. One college kid with a ton of
homework can do magic just by being there.
A crockpot with dinner ought to get a volunteer.
Remember to refer your customers to those reaching out to you and your business.
Lastly, treat your local groomers, vets, humane personnel with a yearly thank you gift of any kind! Our local people give me a box of candy and another sends over pastries made in town. Homemade stationery is a godsend. I send pizza.. . .If you REALLY (really, really, really) get into the groove, you can also provide a newsletter with ALL your related pet businesses and services paying for copies for their shop/salon/clinic, etc. You want those very same people to submit logos, pictures, and information for the newsletter with topics covered and any announcements with deadline dates for each month (you make a flier for them and get email addresses). A calendar for all the goings on for all the submitters is nice too. Your customers will enjoy the pictures and the read and may learn a thing or two each month or quarter. It's totally okay to invite your reading customers to make a pet drawing or tell a story, etc. to put into the pages. you can feature a dog, let's say, every issue. It's time consuming, but having worked in all related fields, I can say that you'll get plenty of attention!

Hey Tracy,
I just remembered a depressing event that had me in stomach clenches years ago. Someone wrote a horrid representation of me and my salon and my work online. God, what an effect it had! Anyway, I called the woman and replied online . . . but the misery seeped in no matter. Anyway, I decided to just do what I do and let those who like what I did and how I do it enjoy it for themselves. I realized that the woman was extremely passive-aggressive and blamed me for things she herself did.
Months later, I met a woman who came in with her dog following a grooming elsewhere. She only wanted a professional opinion as to whether I thought her dog had been groomed. Say what? Anyway, I asked what she asked to have done and pointed out that the nails where cut and the dog was freshly bathed. That's all. But while I was looking the dog over and the customer was talking, I picked up the clippers and finished the job as she told it to me and the dog was done in minutes at no charge. That woman confided that she had read some crappy review and wanted to see for herself. OMG. Well, that was equally disturbing, but we were friends for years and she drove from another state to have her baby groomed by me.
So, rest easy. Give an honest service, be yourself, and enjoy what you do.
I still want to send you into another outlet for your head, so please call when you have a quiet moment and you are near a computer. Okay?
