In the Construction Industry the super inflated prices and severe decrease in labor mixed with lack of product availability my opinion there is no recovery going on.
The super inflated new home prices will hit the homeowner extremely hard when they get their Property Tax Statements. They will be immediately under water as soon as they move into their new home or newly remodeled current home.
The long term effects will be in a couple years. The home will not appraise for what it was built for. Homeowners will be forced to stay where they are or taking a loss on the home vs experiencing equity in the home they built or invested in their existing home. When/if this occurs, the housing industry is going to take another huge hit worse than during the recession years.

Providing Professional Services is obviously different than selling products. There may be some flexibility in selling either one. Know the customer and realize what they are actually asking for.
I believe most of the time they are looking for value not necessary price. If you can convince them they will be getting the best value for their money you will not have to continue the conversation any further. If they do not believe they will be getting the best value for their money, let them walk.
