When we introduce ourselves to a customer we make it as easy as possible for the client to give us a chance. We have a packet with all of our info; insurance, w9, brochure, references, etc. We don't push any customers, nickel and dime,  or "sell" them on anything. We simply see if they are interested in our services, if yes "here is our information and here's how we can help you." If no, "here is our information, if anything changes please give us a call." I would do whatever is in your budget to make your company as visible to the customer as possible. They can't hire you if they don't know you exist.

However, the customers that are late get a reminder, then email, then call, then a discontinuation of service. I usually give a week or two in between each. If they have a reasonable explanation as to why they are late I will give them time- usually up to three months. After that I will simply tell them we need to discontinue service. It has yet to come to discontinuing services.
