How We Got Started

I started the business when dissatisfied with the current offerings on the market. Huge companies are charging far too much and providing far too little for your dollar. My business strives to provide as much value as possible with a fair price that doesn't cripple your growing business.

While doing it yourself, and you clearly spent time on designing and laying this out is commendable, you are doing yourself a disservice to be spending your time doing something that is outside your area of expertise. I'm sure if I were to come up with a CAD design for a sign, you would not want to see the results! I would hire you as a professional sign maker. Likewise, you should be enlisting help of graphic design professionals for doing this kind of design work. It is not going to reflect well on your business, nor will people take more than a precursory glance at this brochure. A few specific changes, I would make: Pick 2 colors at most, there is way too much going on. Crop all the top pictures to be the same size width and height and focus in on the work that you are doing, I don't want to see a busy street or a nice background, I want to see the sign. Make the font smaller and REMOVE the justification on the paragraphs completely. Re-structure the content so that no sentence ends at the bottom of one page and continues on to the next page. Also, is there a cover for this brochure? If so, add all the contact information onto the front or back and get rid of it on the inside. Also, check your margins because when you go to print/fold this it is all messed up and will not match up properly. As many have said, please contact a local graphic/print designer to get this looking professional for your business. The investment will return ten-fold for you!

If there was a legitimate platform out there I would recommend "Weebly" over any of the others, but they all suffer the same problems. The Wix platform is not intuitive to use, and whatever you do build is stuck on Wix for the rest of its life until you finally decide to spend the money on a professional site. Your site will never transfer out of Wix and they give you a hard time about transferring your domain name as well. Whatever you make will look cookie-cutter and and the same as dozens of other Wix sites. The worst example I can give: do you want your restaurant using the same template as a funeral home? I'd hazard a guess not. Wix is not reliable for hosting and as some have already mentioned, there were concerns about Wix sites havin decreased search engine issues with Google and natively worse rankings compared to a normal site. A lot of this can be attributed to the coding practices Wix adheres to in order to allow the flexibility of its builder. Final nail in the coffin, you get what you pay for. Wix may seem cheaper but once you start getting traffic, the cost can be even more than a standard hosting fee in order to secure the amount of bandwidth you need to keep your website up.

While many of these free or low-cost alternatives exist, your website will look the same as so many others with Wix for example. As a photographer especially, you are your brand. Your personality and style is what makes your business and is what sells someone on choosing you. You don't want to look the same as anyone else. I would strongly suggest doing some research in your local area for professional web designers.
