I worked in EMS before going into insurance full time. COVID-19 is not something to ignore. The precautions being taken are because of how long the virus can survive in air and on surfaces. It can survive longer than the flu in air and on surfaces. Easily transmitted and easy to catch. No known treatment that works and no vaccine! Slowing the spread allowing time to develop both is essential. Generally though basic hand washing, avoiding the obviously sick, not touching mouth, eyes, nose, face in general will help you avoid the disease. USE COMMON SENSE. The most at risk are the very young, elderly and those already in a compromised health condition. Listen to local, state and federal sources on best practices to avoid the virus and whats best do to if you think you may have it. I am in South Carolina and SCDHEC has already released clear instructions on what to do. BE RESPONSIBLE AND FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS. So in conclusion don't think its a joke but also don't think its the end of the world. Use common sense and everyone stay safe! See below if you are in South Carolina for more info.
