I usually wait about a week, but I'm sure it really depends on what kind of business you do. Sometimes it takes my clients a while to get their ducks in a row. Starting a new business can be time consuming and confusing.

1. Keep the client informed. I let them know what is coming next before it gets there. No surprises. Knowing their status is important.
2. Customer service. My clients can call me any time with questions or concerns. It doesn't even have to be related to what I do for them, if I can...

2. Customer service. My clients can call me any time with questions or concerns. It doesn't even have to be related to what I do for them, if I can answer a question or relieve some anxiety or concerns, I'll do it. My work phone rings straight to my cell so I don't miss calls.
3. Keep my clients happy. If they are happy, I earn a paycheck. If they are not happy, no paycheck. So much of my client base is referral. That is not to say be a pushover or allow them to abuse me. Most clients are great, but once in awhile there is a bad egg. I don't work with bad eggs. Don't keep a client just because its money earned. Sometimes it's just not worth it. Stay happy in your work so you can keep your clients happy. I love my work. I don't feel like I'm working.
