About Us

Using the engraving skills he learned in England, Harold Watson Sr arrived from Birmingham England and began what is today a multi-generation jewelry business.

Established in 1927, H Watson Jewelry was originally a manufacturing ring vendor serving Chicagoland jewelers. After World War II, his son – Harold Jr. – joined the business. While automating his father’s engraving design and continuing the manufacturing business, Harold Jr. also founded the retail side of H Watson Jewelry. That retail business continues to evolve into today’s H Watson Jewelry which today is into our 3rd.and 4th Generation with James and Garrett.

How We Got Started

We began as a wedding ring manufacturer, selling to jewelry stores primarily engraved and hand chased designs. We moved into diamonds in the early 1950s . And ventured into many more styles including engagement rings, earrings, pendants, pins, and bracelets.

First it does matter where our product is manufactured,we would always rather use product from the states. Our industry however does not have the variety and quality of product for our industry. Therefore we have to go overseas to track sources in other countries trying to be aware of responsible... Our industry however does not have the variety and quality of product for our industry. Therefore we have to go overseas to track sources in other countries trying to be aware of responsible sourcing of those items (environment). Our choices, price and quality of merchandise is very important to us. As we try to represent the best of qualities in our merchandise which we create in our shop in house. All of this coupled with trade issues makes for a very interesting spin on the future in the Jewelry industry. We pride ourselves on Quality in our product.
