Personally, I like the exchange of cards --it's comparable to ebooks vs. the real thing. Their tactile nature (hand to hand) appeals to the SENSES which as a society is getting lost in the digital environment. I have several alerts set for jobsites -- Media Bistro is a good one. Three of my clients came as the result of leads from there.

My (previous) need to please others. Setting boundaries is going to be the key for me moving forward with my business. As Michael Durney mentioned, I'm here to please Him.

Contact the hospital PR or marketing director about it, making an "event" out of it similar to a gallery exhibition. I've coordinate these; let me know if I can assist.

Yes, just did with a real estate CRM. Back and forth emails/phone calls/texts and then...."I need 2 billable hours a week from you"! Not worth my time.

My answer: I agree with the nods to Amazon; they rock! I ordered something this week with Prime and got it in ONE day, free. Worst: I had a profile online at Thumbtack.com and was getting a fair amount of business from there, but the algorithm they use to determine how much fee I pay didn't...

Worst: I had a profile online at Thumbtack.com and was getting a fair amount of business from there, but the algorithm they use to determine how much fee I pay didn't make sense. I did a grant writing project for $600 and they charged me $8. Then, I did a quick one-hour edit job for $70 and they charged me $38! I contacted customer service and they wouldn't budge on the fee, so I deactivated my account (I had all five-star ratings, too). Still haven't heard from them...(nor do I expect to).
I think the key word to define marketing in today's global economy is "integrated" -- having a brand presence across as many channels of communication as possible, both paid and unpaid media.

Sounds like a great program! Multiple opportunities exist in your community to get the word out about your business: sponsorships -- a kids' sports league like baseball or football (your logo on uniforms); coffee with a cop community forum, whereby you make a presentation at the start of the program and then residents visit with local officers; offer to coordinate a blood drive at a hospital and provide people with a brochure on their way out, put your name on signage, etc. Volunteering to make presentations about the program at driver's ed classes at the school or at school assemblies are also good options. In all cases, it's important that you do a soft sell of your app, with the focus being on safe driving in general, accident statistics, etc. If you haven't done so already, a simple press release about the program submitted to local media is very effective, especially TV morning shows. Feel free to contact me if I can assist you in anyway -- this is right up my alley!
