Sorry but I don't see how this would benefit someone offering a service only or an author offering a book.

James, if you are in a situation where you need to network with new people (perhaps finding new people with whom to connect and network re: the services you offer or your book), this is a semi-structured way to break the ice and accelerate the "get to know you" time. If you are in the (fortunate) position of not needing more customers or clients, then the game might be more fun, rather than FunAndWork.
