I miss Sears! I know they were suffering but there are so many old stand-by's disappearing soon there will be nothing left. I do also miss the small corner store that was open seven days a week nine to midnight.

I see several very good responses and I see several that I wouldn't tollerate for a second. My first purpose in speaking to a business owner is to learn! As quickly as possible I will get a bit of information, introduce mtself and my product/service and then ask for a time when they might be available to discuss things further. Know that you have interupted their busy day. If they have time right now, good. If they're not sure, suggest you will call them to set up a convenient time to meet again. Let's say, Okay, I'll call you next Tuesday morning to check your schedule. Just a call to check the schedule is a lot less intimidating but make absolutely sure you follow up as stated! I once had a prospect who was always very busy but I always followed up when we agreed. One day he said to me, "I could set my watch by you calling. Call me next month." Three weeks later, he called me and said I have six people here who want to see you, can you come over tomorrow?" That day I ended up with eight new clients and a very good days business. The other thing I remember from all my sales training is, look in the mirror, God gave you two ears and one mouth. Does this suggest anything?
