In 2012 my neighbor built a casket for my husband who passed away from cancer. Then a few years later, my neighbor said he was retiring from the casket business and asked if I would like to take over. I was equally intrigued and excited to the possibilities. So I bought a sawmill and began harvested dead standing / blow down trees off my farm, which happened to be mostly cedar. As I had never before run a sawmill or built caskets, my first build was interesting to say the least. I discovered quickly that I would need to get equipped with just about every power tool out there. No problem! I am now a power tool junky. I proceeded to make caskets and log urns for humans and their pets. In 2022 I decided I wanted to add to my repertoire The Cowboy Toe Pincher Coffin, which has turned out to be more challenging then I imagined. But since I am not put off by my lacking skills, I started small with coffin shelves.
