My mother sought housing from various Realtors and other real estate peddlers in the 60s following her divorce from my father. I found the agents to be uncaring, uninformed, and they treated my mother with disdain. The housing they offered my mother was unfit to live in. I asked an agent why we were looking at the shanties and if they would live in it. That motivated me to tell her that I would become a Real Estate Broker and help people - I was about 9 years old. I obtained my Real Estate license when I was 20 years old. I began buying rental property when I was 21. I opened my own firm when I was 24. I began building homes when I was 26.
