They do not have control until you give them access. It is usually mal-ware, ad-ware, spy-ware or a trojan that can be removed. If you give them control they will install other viruses, etc... to your machine. Better to scan for virus and use a spyware removal program or call a local technician to remove for you. Don't give them online control or money..it is usually a scam.
