About Us

My name is Jennifer Cox and I am a photographer in Northeast Georgia. I have been shooting locally since 2011.

I’m a Florigeorgian who loves adventure. Our family loves to travel and get our thrill on at any amusement park that will let this havoc-filled crew in. We are a basketball house divided but I bleed Duke blue and nothing will change it. When I’m not working you will find me at tennis matches, basketball games, and on the baseball diamond. I can quote most episodes of The Office. I’m a big Jane Austen fan who found and married her Mr. Darcy—minus all the cash. At heart I’m a teacher who is passionate about getting kids to love history and a photographer who acts like a nut for a genuine smile.

I can’t wait to meet your family and create some fantastic memories you can hang on your walls for generations to enjoy.

How We Got Started

How in the world did I get started on this journey? My boys. They basically inspire everything, but I wanted to find a way to document their journeys. Hours spent fiddling with cameras, teaching myself everything I could about photoshop and editing, and the support of this crazy crew has brought me to this point—documenting the amazing adventures of other families!

I appreciate the local pick-up that saves me on shipping costs. I know it would be easier to ship it all, but I am so grateful for that. I have contacted her privately with questions and she has always responded! I would confidently buy from her any time!"

Thankful for businesses that have stuck it out here in our county as well!"

I find it’s so much easier to connect with and achieve connection in the portraits of the kids with this information. I feel it’s incredibly important with the siblings of newborns. They already feel a little left out when most of the time is spent with the baby. So being able to connect with information they are already engaged with is crucial.  Would you like styling assistance? I know some clients want it, but can be afraid to ask. Others offered advice without the question being asked can feel insulted—especially if they already have something planned.  And I always wished that people would ask my children’s tolerance level or attention span. It’s different for each child, and being able to make a game plan for the session with this information—so helpful. I have found that my clients are always so grateful that I think about asking about this (I ask this about husbands as well.).

What's do you typically shoot? Your avenues would definitely be different depending on whether you shoot families, newborns, seniors, weddings, etc. (more) What's do you typically shoot? Hi Heather! Have you ever thought about combining your two loves? The pet business and your photography? That might be an interesting way to transition into photography if that is what you are hoping to do in the future. The pet business and your photography? That might be an interesting way to transition into photography if that is what you are hoping to do in the future. In my opinion, you should always start fresh when beginning a new venture. I would definitely create a new social media presence unless you are combining your businesses.

Are you aiming for family, senior, children? If children or families, connect with a local MOPS group or other similar established group and ask if you can come in and do a demonstration for mothers on how to better use their camera. Hand out little goodie bags with your card or whatever else you use to promote yourself. If you are targeting seniors, consider have a senior rep program.

I know when I interact with a business, I like to put a name with a face. I want to see who I will be dealing with from here on out. And if you are in construction or a similar field, have someone come out and snap some shots of you doing what you do best! I think you don't have to do the same old, same old headshots that you see on billboards and business cards. Get creative and show your clients you like to think out side the box.
