M.G. Tech-Writing, L.L.C. (MGT), opened its doors in the tiny community of Cedar Creek, Arizona on the White Mountain Apache Indian Reservation in July 1993, and provides planning and grant writing services to for- and non-profit organizations, governments and government agencies with a special focus on transportation-related program development and technical assistance for tribal and rural communities.
The firm is a sole proprietorship with:
*offices in Cottonwood and Tolleson, Arizona, as well as Fountain Valley, California;
*Disadvantaged Business Enterprise certification through the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT), California Unified Certification Program and the Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities); and
*nearly $20 million dollars in funded grants to its credit.
MGT has been involved in grant and technical writing since opening its doors. In recent years, the firm has written six Tribal Safety Plans for five Alaska Native Villages and one New Mexico Pueblo, and is currently contracted with Taos Pueblo to complete their Tribal Safety Plan. Additionally, the firm has written Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plans for Pittsburg and Girard, Kansas (as a sub-consultant to the PedNet Coalition) and 21 Safe Routes to School (SRTS) Action Plans for various Arizona communities; including five Arizona tribes.
MGT has designed, written, consulted on and administered the implementation of grant proposals for social service agencies, health organizations, every type of school facility (including work with some charter and postsecondary schools), for-profit wood products industries, non-profit organizations, county, municipal and tribal governments. Further, the firm has written annual reports, sourcebooks, and completed numerous types of technical writing and editing projects. MGT has an excellent rate of grant funding success and a continued desire to write numerous types of grants; e.g., projects for transportation, cultural, historical and environmental preservation, affordable housing, community and economic development, health and human services.
We are particularly passionate about teaching others how to:
* write competitive grants;
* administer funded grants;
* design effective Safe Routes to School programs; and
* complete transportation planning efforts via grant pursuits and strong multi-modal transportation program design.
