How We Got Started

In operation since 1987 Hitec - Brazen Sportswear is the largest operation of it's type on the North Island. Not only souvenir designs and graphics are staples in the business, but custom imprinting for teams, schools, events and corporate branding solutions keep the 9 staff busy. Never too busy to come up with innovative, functional and fun products branded for your exclusive use. Orders can be any variety or number from 1 to thousands, using specialty inks like solar-changing or water- based, candy-cane thread colours for embroidered logos or mesh banners for the telephone poles. Word of mouth is always a good place to start, once word gets out then you can start getting referrals from potential clients. Always put a thank you item with your logo onto it into the order when customer picks it up.  As well, offer to put a picture of the finished goods onto your Instagram, Facebook and Pinterest sites.  Free advertising for them and you! I like to schedule a one on one meeting, meet my contact and learn about the company. Once I learn more about their industry I can then be creative and think of ways we might intermingle to showcase both of our businesses. In a group networking setting with various industry representatives it's... (more) I like to schedule a one on one meeting, meet my contact and learn about the company. Once I learn more about their industry I can then be creative and think of ways we might intermingle to showcase both of our businesses. In a group networking setting with various industry representatives it's much easier to come up with a collective participation plan for a customized offer, event or tradeshow based on what each business offers. Each group would bring their own unique offerings to help beacon the interest of potential customers. Communication and organization is very important especially in a limited time frame like one hour. I would schedule a few collaborative events every few months to one save money by doing it together and two, it would make for a more interesting display. Furthermore having like minded individuals with charismatic personalities always helps and should be considered when choosing people to network with. Recognise each others strengths and weaknesses when planning. Another idea would be to set up a referral bonus plan where we can offer gift certificates/coupons for each other. (For example: Spend ($x) at our establishment and you get ($x/x%) off at this business.) From a sales point of view I would determine their marketing & promotional goals, budget and inquire about any upcoming events or tradeshows that might pertain to each business within the network to see how each of us might assist even if it's not an event that might be a the top of our list. I would also think of products that might help them stand out from the crowds and get our name out there a the same time. Exposure is exposure.
