Value received for money spent, probably not.  Very best way to get new customers is do a really good job, hopefully better than average, be pleasant and charge a fair price.  This will get you at least 5 referrals from one job, which will be far better and give a much better client to work with.  (more) Value received for money spent, probably not.  Very best way to get new customers is do a really good job, hopefully better than average, be pleasant and charge a fair price.  This will get you at least 5 referrals from one job, which will be far better and give a much better client to work with.

Practice and develop the art of good listening when talking with them.  Make call backs once in awhile and listen again carefully. (more) Practice and develop the art of good listening when talking with them.  Make call backs once in awhile and listen again carefully.

Absolutely never, not even to  relatives.  Just do good workmanship and always use the formula "fair value received for money spent". After a few years, do away with all advertising and you still won't be able to keep up with demand. I have run the road both ways, starting small, going big and then going small.  I pump septic tanks, and there is absolutely no question, even close, go small.  If you have some extra energy you just have to put to use, be a small company doing big things.  You can control costs much more easily,... Forget the silliness factor. It will only detract. Best advice is to adopt "fair value received for money spent". It will carry your company to galaxies and back. (more) Forget the silliness factor. Probably not a great deal. I take into account personal interview, look at other jobs they have done, & talk directly to the client. (more) Probably not a great deal. I take into account personal interview, look at other jobs they have done, & talk directly to the client.

Send them a card with a note that you will not be increasing rates for them only for next 6 mos. (year, etc.), should they need your services in that time period. Everyone, who get groceries, gasses up their cars, etc. knows very well inflation is going foolish, and this would probably be appreciated. Might even want to let them know the price stabilization could be transferred to a relative or neighbor.
