The business traveler (if he/she works for a large company) is probably required to use a specific travel agent.  So, if you want their business you have to find out who to talk to and then personally visit with that person and see if there is something you can offer that they aren't already getting.  As far as the pleasure travelers, they are usually looking for a "bargain", so find a way to offer them a package deal.  You will also find that it helps if you have used the product yourself.  If you don't have time or money to travel, do a lot of objective research before you recommend a hotel or travel arrangements to your customers.

When I first became an attorney I tried networking, but I'm just not great at that.   So, I decided to relax and see if I could get enough clients by word of mouth from the clients who happened to need my services.  My clients, I'm proud to say, have done the networking for me.  I do not have... I don't consider it my business what other attorneys charge.  When a client comes to me, I decide if I think I can help them.  If I can, I try to put myself in their position and I quote a price range that I would be comfortable paying if I were the client.  I spent 20 years as a client before I... In my business I offer a service. I try to listen intently to what they say, noticing their body language as they talk. If I think I can help them with their problem, I suggest how they can accomplish what they want to accomplish. If I see quickly that they expect something I can't or won't... As a customer, some title companies fail to tell me their fees before the transaction is completed. As an attorney, I have had the pleasure of working with several title companies and had no "bad experiences". Like any service company, some seem more interested in getting the job done than others.
