I have had limited exposure with retail, and find that it needs to be the right fit for both the artist as well as the store. The times I have done it have been okay, so I choose to market my designs differently, because my whole purpose for my business is to raise money for charity. I would recommend looking at locations that would compliment your work and that would fit in with what they have in thier store. Most retail stores require consignment pieces so they do not have to outlay money up front. Some stores may do that initially and then if your product does well, they may go to net 30. This is all part of negotiation up front and building the relationship. Good luck!!!

I would not suggest that is a wise move. You should always handle yourself with professionalism and grace. You never know where people will land and how that would reflect badly on you.

I do not have a store, but when someone makes a purchase from me it is a unique experience because I donate a portion of every sale to charity. That instantly makes a connection with my client and there is a sense of satisfaction for both the client, my company and the charity.
