About Us

The time has finally come where Renee and I are confident to announce that our Jewelry and Fine Gift store will be opening in just a few weeks! The acquisition was in January and has been an adventure! We bought a commercial piece of property at the foot of the Amite River Bridge on Florida Blvd. that included an old house. We have almost completed the rehab on the older home and we are very excited to bring SALASSI JEWELRY & FINE GIFTS into Livingston Parish! Our store will be the first business on the left as you cross the Amite River Bridge coming into the city of Denham Springs, and the last business you will pass on the right before you leave Denham Springs. We will be carrying artists such as PHILLIP GAVRIEL out of New York and a widely recognized local artist MIGNON FAGET! We will also be carrying other Jewelry lines and gifts from local artists such as Misty Catalano-Bauer and many talented artists both locally and abroad. We will also be carrying Hand Bags, Scarves, Handcrafted Pewter Gifts, Crystal, etc....! Our Website is currently under construction .We look forward to getting the doors open and giving the best service and products to our friends and perspective clients. We will keep everyone posted on our official opening date. We sincerely hope to see you soon! We have now moved to a larger location in the Denham Springs Antique District 111 N. Range Ave Denham Springs, La 70726.

It totally depends on your location and how involved your local community is. Ask some stores adjacent to yours, they should be able to provide some info on the turnout near you. Our area is not moved that much by it, so it is not worth the investment to spend any real money as the return for us... Location is key, as well as competition, the longer you have been vested in a community will make a difference if the management is doing what they are supposed to be doing to remain relevant and competitive. The idea that Mom and Pops will cease to exist is rediculous, as a matter of fact, their will be a trend to shop more at Mom and Pops. So, one will need to be more diligent in their approach in opening a store, keeping in mind location is way more important than before. Taking the cheap way out by starting in a hidden strip mall etc.. is and will be a potential recipe for disaster. Good luck!

It doesn’t really matter as long as they feel recognized, most of us know this to be true. Just apologize and find your way to an out. (more) It doesn’t really matter as long as they feel recognized, most of us know this to be true. Just apologize and find your way to an out.

I’ve seen many fail due to location, I’ve seen others fail not knowing where to focus and utilize their advertising allowance. I’ve seen them fail by not advertising at all. I’ve seen them fail by not being professional.  I’ve seen them fail because of too much competition. I’ve seen them...
