Over the long run websites. It will stand, although it's costs are higher. The others are packaged easier and faster to use. But you'll be at their mercy for a presence, or leads if they can make money at it. Same with Google on the web - but you have a choice to stay out of their grasp.

we are not a business that gears up, in fact we often see business fall off month over month compared to other times of the year, since we are construction based, for a large part, and days off, weather, and vacations around holidays often mean that management, and production staff, aren't at work as much, buying and getting supplies. The only opposite driver is that sometimes cash businesses need to spend to keep tax liability down, so we do try to push stock up sales. REgardless we don't have to gear up.
HOwever, I will tell you that my clients are telling me they can't get any skilled and limited unskilled workers - simply because all are working. That is driving up cost of labor, and delaying schedules. A lot of others, though are telling me they aren't going to take work, schedules that require any more growth, or expenses (overhead and direct) since they are still wincing from the last time, and scared of out of control recession drivers, that are not being foreseen. Lots more caution. Finally we see a lot of clients (contractors) still being asked to bid, lots of bidders, but prices have not risen that much and a lot of contractors are still working for too little profit margins and lean bids. Still hard for some.
Two things, really. I won an EE of the year award and bonus on a particularly challenging year at a corporate directors position. My reporting manager ( an Exec. VP of Corporate Services) was asked to present. He told the rest of the EEs and shareholders, Board of Directors, etc. that managing...

Two things, really. I won an EE of the year award and bonus on a particularly challenging year at a corporate directors position. My reporting manager ( an Exec. VP of Corporate Services) was asked to present. He told the rest of the EEs and shareholders, Board of Directors, etc. that managing me was like herding a butterfly with a pool cue. That told me I was right- I can do it myself.
Secondly, ironically, was when my so-called partners in a company I managed ( and worked out of banruptcy, and turned around to profitability) refused my buy- out offer, giving them full asking price, and bringing cash to the deal, in favor of an unknown, alleged monied guy, investor, at the advice of a very highly paid M and A , advisor, that wasn't too bright, in my evaluatuon. That buyer arrived on closing day, with no cash, notes for the two owners, no percentage for me ( as promised to me by partners/owners), and they closed anyway, no moral compass, and no common sense. I packed and left, and warned them all there would be trouble. He ripped the cash in bank for himself and senior owner down payment, and ran it to ground, screwed down the note holders by about 50%, and sold it for scrap thereafter. I was in business a few days after the closing, competing with my old company. Yeah, I was small with no real money, but my cost of entry was nothing, too.
Bad decisions by others, being shown I had the skill set, and learning the ropes in failed efforts taught me. I've been at it since 94, leveraged out my partner in 07, and happy for the most part, 24 years later.
I only wish I could find employees like I was.
yes, absolutely.. even people that have you on speed dial, and have you in cell phones, can remember numbers. When they tell others about it, and so on, it can be worthwhile. I prefer to have something I can tell them it spells. I have bought numbers that spell something, and that is only as good...

I prefer to have something I can tell them it spells. I have bought numbers that spell something, and that is only as good as you make it. 1800callonstar..... is what i think it is, but i always remember the second or third time - its 18004onstar. (and it may be 1-888 so that goes to show you, that I may be off on my assessment.... but i do know essentially how to get to onstar. )
I see you have a ton of answers. I read a few. I have found the most rewarding gifts I get, are also like what I give. My customers get a letter thanking them for our latest year of long, and new relationships. Also I tell them that I am donating in their name, to a local children's charity. ...

I see you have a ton of answers. I read a few. I have found the most rewarding gifts I get, are also like what I give. My customers get a letter thanking them for our latest year of long, and new relationships. Also I tell them that I am donating in their name, to a local children's charity. Sometimes I name it, but often I don't. Then we all sign the letter ( pre-printed on holiday paper letterhead) , and wish them Happy Hanukkah, Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year.
I have gotten quite a few compliments and support. Who doesn't like the idea of giving to children in need?
Finally for a very special customer, I would prefer to take them to dinner or bring them a nice wine, or cheese at some point NOT at Christmas. The memory would be more likely cemented, than mixed in with all the other ruckus of this time of year.
