How We Got Started
After an exciting Alaskan career starting in 1980 and continuing through the mid 2000s, BIG's founder, Jim Bates, was engaged to provide consulting to F500 organizations in the lower 48. He returned to Alaska and his Eagle River home and founded Business Improvement Group, Inc. (BIG) in 2010.

"These are lovely venues located with a million-dollar view overlooking the bay. My wife and I love the Boat. Yes, you read that correctly. You drive up to, what appears to be, a large vessel tied up at dock. Once aboard you will find several levels of accommodations that defy description. A full kitchen, bath, and living area complete with library and wood stove. There is a bedroom above in the "flyin' bridge" and a master suite below that, get this, has a shower that's ceiling is partially comprised of a clear hatch that allows you to view the moon and stars while showering, given a clear night of course. There are several natural decks that provide an incredible outdoor experience. I cannot convey the ambiance that this venue has. My wife and I stayed on one occasion to celebrate our wedding anniversary. It was the most relaxing, peaceful, romantic get-away that one could dream of. Suitable for a couple or a group. Oh, and did I mention that it is fully equipped with everything that you need except for your food and personal items. I highly recommend checking out all of the Alaska Adventure Cabin offerings. You won't be disappointed! "
