Emotional drama and 'impasses' often occur when we (or others) have unrealistic *EXPECTATIONS*.

Some self help guru once advised that we should set goals that can be met 80% of the time +/-. Less than that = not striving enough...more than that = frustrating. 

In generational businesses BOTH generations need to expect success only some % of the time, not ask for 100% success. "Strive for excellence, not perfection," does not go down well with perfectionists...sorry...try being a realist. 

Advice: agree to disagree 1 time out of 5...and just let that one go.
