Greetings!
We are a full service art studio where our main focus is on step by step painting. However, we offer other classes such as Jewelry making, Arts & Crafts, DIY projects. Classes also include Pyrography (Wood Burning) and some other goodies! No ARTISTIC SKILLS needed to participate in any classes!
Classes are for children and adults daily!
We will have our Grand Opening by February 1st! We will send you out an announcement! But you can stop by and say hello! We offer competitive prices! Something for everyone! See you soon! We look forward to meeting you!

I opened my studio largely based on a premise featured in my last book “The People of Color Official Survival Guide” Valerie Howard (2013), in which I set out to give advice and state the obvious for my community. You see, being a person of faith, fun and familiarity, thought it would be brilliant to open an art studio/learning center in the hood! Hmmmm, not quite sure. Daily, my neighbors who are an interesting cast of characters never cease to try to sell me toothpaste, plastic bags, clothes, etc, etc. Anything you can think of, Ive been asked to buy. Nothing to do with Art! And I’m such a sucker, I buy some of this nonsense! People dropping in and out to say “Hi” or to check it out are encouraging and complimentary! But words don’t pay PSEG! My studio is a fun place! Filled with Art, fabulous good music, adequate space, colorful, have plenty things to do, besides Art! The Creative Mind Art Studio is all about using your head. Located right across the street from Grove Street Elementary has been a blessing! The dedicated parents who have enrolled their children into my art classes are my lifesavers. Without them, I would be joining my neighbors peddling shoe polish! Overall, I’m happy I can at least be the example and change I want to see in the world, and many I believe are benefiting from my services. But I want to offer more like purchasing 24 violins and maybe a piano for the fall and offer lessons, but right now, I’m just trying to pay the rent...
I’m not thrilled either. People claim they’ll support you and give you great compliments. But without patrons, compliments don’t pay the light bill...I’m just saying.
