About Us
Visceral Concepts' mission is to help small businesses stand out in the crowd, causing them to grow. From this growth, wealth will be generated, jobs will be created, and we will play a role in the revitalization of American economy.
How We Got Started
I began this company because I realized that many companies were behind in their use of technology, that they didn't really understand how to connect with their clients, and that they tended to blend in to the crowd. I knew I could help change that.

This is an excellent question. Here are some tips I put together to focus on the local market:
Use Free Listings The internet is full of places you can list your business for free that show up on a local search. These include Google MyBusiness, Bing Places, Facebook, Yelp, Foursquare, and Alignable (which you’ve already got down!). Figure out how much sense each of them makes for your business, then put appropriate effort into them. But don’t ignore any of them. They all help you come up in a local search, which is what people are using when they’re on their phones.
Start A Blog I know that starting a blog doesn’t sound like it would help you build any local awareness, but people research products, industries, and brands before they buy. Blogs are where they’re doing their research. If they’re coming to your blog, you’ve got better odds of being the business they work with.
Use Targeted Social Media
On Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and most other social networks you can use some form of location targeting for your content. Facebook allows you to get really in-depth with every post, targeting way more than a location. At a minimum, most sites will allow you to tag your post with a location, which will get people in the area to see it.
Work With A Local Micro-Influencer
There are big things happening with influencer marketing that can make a massive impact on your brand recognition. A lot of retail businesses can even barter with influencers for their services. Influencers put your brand in front of their audience and tell them to buy from you. Because they’ve got credibility, their audience listens.
Emphasize Reviews Everyone who might buy from you wants to see that you’re a good company to work with. That means you need to give every customer the best service possible, then ask everyone to leave a review for your brand. If you have local satisfied customers, more locals will come.
Work With Other Local Businesses
Setting up a referral system with another business can work wonders for your local traffic. Find ways you can help drive traffic to each other, be it through coupons, great content partnerships, or direct traffic. It doesn’t matter as long as you’re both helping each other.
If you want more information, I actually just published an article that expands on some of the ways you can market to your local area online. It might help you out. Let me know if I can answer any more questions!

SEO itself is not a scam, but be wary of any SEO company that promises your site will rank on Google's first page for any keyword. There is no way to guarantee that. Period.

It depends on how you rate "best". However, to get the most return for the effort invested, go with content marketing. It's kind of a big umbrella term, but it boils down to effectively using a combination of your website, social media, and email to draw in qualified leads.

If you're not sure how exactly to do all that, you probably ought to hire an agency to help. You can feel free to contact me if you'd like some more in-depth information.

I have faced this exact situation, and here's what I did:
I created the ad the way the customer requested, but included a signed disclaimer in the contract that I could not be held responsible for unsatisfactory results because the customer didn't follow my recommendations. Then, when the ad inevitably under performed, I went over the reasons with the client, and suggested doing the ad the way I originally suggested. The client saw the difference and learned to take my advice.
Alternatively, you could politely explain that they hired a marketing professional because they aren't marketing experts. They expect their clients to trust their recommendations, and should therefore do the same when they hire someone.
