About Us
We are a coaching & consulting firm supporting leaders and their teams to achieve new levels of productivity and satisfaction that leads to better results and retention.
How We Got Started
I grew up in the family businesses (4 generations of them) and saw what worked and what didn't. I studied business operations, management, and people so that I could help owners make more money and create a culture that is fun to work in.

I spend time thinking about my clients each week and what would be of interest to them and unexpected. Like a random act of kindness of sorts, except they know who is considering them with care. It has had the effect of many many referrals, which wasn't my original motivation.

That it's really important to document your career. Dates of employment both month and year whether you're self-employed or an employee. And document your achievements. Projects, results, numbers. You will be forever glad you did if/when you ever need it. (and there are random reasons why you most likely will...even when self-employed.) Just make a simple google doc and keep adding to it. Trust me after a lengthy career you simply won't remember unless you write it down.
If you're a business owner it's the equivalent if studying your numbers. Peak times, slow times, trends, P&L, balance sheet. There are so many insights you can gain by evaluating your history. Give yourself the most options for success!!!

My journey to self-motivation transformed over time the more I came to know myself; what I wanted and why. It started with external motivation, wanting to lose weight so I wouldn't feel so self-conscious and uncomfortable about myself. As I practiced and researched the things I gravitated to it became more about health. Knowing I wanted to live a long healthy life not constrained by the effects of poor choices. Which evolved in deeper thinking about what it really meant to care for me. Relating it more to a reverence for life and the importance of honoring the gift of life I'd been given. Moving into self-love and wanting to be more intentional about my experience of myself.
This process was affected by the course of my life. Losing loved ones, raising children, imaging grandchildren, loving the outdoors, finding a passion in travel and my work and noticing the difference in what it takes as my body ages to maintain my strength both emotionally and physically.
When I accepted that all I can take with me, in the end, is my experience of myself it shifted my perspective from motivation per se to purpose. I want to feel proud of myself and the life I lived. That flavors my decision to stay in bed or go to yoga. Go for a walk in the neighborhood or a hike the woods. There is a place for it all in my life because the vision of my life moves me.
Things may go according to my general plan and they may not, but I have built the inner resources that move me because I knew there was something more than just making myself do things.
I don't ever think of it like that. When I know my clients this is something that if, in their nature, I can anticipate. They get busy, they are traveling, have new initiatives they are pushing. Sometimes the well-intended attempt to show up for a call just doesn't happen. It's also why they pay...

I don't ever think of it like that. When I know my clients this is something that if, in their nature, I can anticipate. They get busy, they are traveling, have new initiatives they are pushing. Sometimes the well-intended attempt to show up for a call just doesn't happen. It's also why they pay a premium. They know they are holding my time. My contracts and work is so clear with my clients that it isn't an issue. When they don't show, I still do something on their behalf and send them a communication. Have you ever intended to call someone day after day and it's the end of the day and you didn't. It happens. Then sometimes it moves into the embarassing. So you just reset and go again. Reassure them that is OK. I never want to assume that they haven't tried to communicate. Have you reviewed your junk mail lately. Whole new level of "how did this email get in here." Voicemails that are garbled. Stuff happens. Cut them some slack unless you shouldn't cut yourself some.
Love yourself and one another. Everyone is right from their perspective. Take the time to find out where you agree and disagree and be open to making things right with each other.

Plan well, don't take on more than I can fit in a day, be proactive when I do need to recalibrate a deadline. Be happy that I'm busy, and in charge of both the workload I've chosen and know myself well enough to also plan the time I need so I don't burn out. Learn this lesson early.

With careful planning they can really develop an asset that is worth something.
I have a team of coaches who handle various niches and have a succession plan that will give them ownership, continuity and also provide for my children.
Coaching is a profession I love. I've never had a lack of clients so even though there may be a lot of others out there, my clients are happy with their return on investment.

I'm not sure whether there are more or less coaches, I imagine there could be, but I think we are just more aware of them because of the internet. I'm not sure just because there are more advertising they are all getting clients.
Don't give up if it is something you love and just keep making sure you are doing good work for the people who choose you.

Then I went on to write my business mission which is really more about the solutions and experience I want to provide for my clients. That mission is embedded in my marketing message.
