Local Discussions What's happening in the Edmonton business community
Hey everyone,
For property managers and real estate agents, how do you usually decide who you use for maintenance work in condos and commercial properties, and what’s the best way for a contractor to get on your radar?
Is it better to go through condo associations and condo boards, or is there another way that tends to work better?

Hey everyone! I’m teaching a group of students this upcoming weekend how to build websites using AI, and I’m looking for a real local business we can use as our demo project. If you know anyone, or if you need a website, let me know.

Feels great to be back on the network. Had technical glitches with the email that i had used to set up Alignable and lost access. Was a bit of an interesting journey there , but all well that ends well !! Do you remember of those situations where Technology decided the course of your life for a while !!

Marketing-side perspective: most property managers shortlist contractors before they ever need one - they search Google for things like "duct cleaning for condos Edmonton" and check whose reviews specifically mention condo or commercial work. Two things that put a contractor on that radar: (1) list commercial/condo services explicitly on your Google Business Profile and ask your best PM clients for reviews that mention that work - one "they handled our 40-unit building" review does more than ten generic ones; (2) a newer shift: PMs increasingly ask ChatGPT for shortlists, and AI pulls from those same profiles and reviews. Cold outreach to boards still works, but being findable first is what makes it convert.
