As an Online Marketing company, we recommend our clients purchase a domain which matches the company name. From a branding perspective, a logo and color scheme from the business card should be replicated on the website, which should replicated on all flyers, and marketing materials. The company name is no different. From a Search Engine optimization standpoint, having an exact match between business name and domain not only improves ranking in the Search Engines, but avoids confusion to the consumer. Many people try to guess the name of a company online by typing in a URL which exactly matches the name. Additionally, having a variant of your company name as your domain name could open one up to legal or copyright issues, especially if a local State search of the name is not performed. In California, one can do a search of a name on the State website: https://businesssearch.sos.ca.gov/ Lastly, if the company has a single product that they focus on, you can purchase two domains, one an exact match to the company name, and the second would be a domain name that is descriptive of the product. Whichever of the two you choose as the main URL, the other can also be redirected to the site. A shortened URL used to describe a single brand is known as a Vanity URL.   We are happy to answer any follow-up or related questions to this or any other Online Marketing related issues.

However, your current site design does not match the level of professionalism I believe you are trying to achieve. To help build the type of online credibility and visually stunning marketing engine your brand deserves, we recommend: 1) Have a logo professionally done 2) Re-Create your site in a platform with a more visually stunning layout such as WordPress. Free sites like Wix that have a URL based on their platform ie. http://www.wix.com/yourcompanyname are viewed as less legitimate than if you purchase the actual domain name and go with a paid hosting service.  3) Most new sites have a rotating slideshow where you can: give a FULL overview of all your product lines/services. 4) If your videos were uploaded into a single YouTube Channel, then added back into the site thorough a "Video Wall"  you would get a better boost in the search engines. 5) Currently your site has no-meta tag data, and creating SEO keywords to add to it would improve your ranking.

I would say between 10 am and 2pm is a good time to message or text a warm prospect or lead. (more) Having a Yelp profile for any business will help boost your ranking in the Search Engines, especially if the wording is SEO optimized! Any photos that you add help make your a company seem more approachable and friendly. Yelp Advertising can help those businesses that already have foot traffic, but are in need of a boost. This applies to retail brick and mortar stores such hair salons, restaurants, etc. Those businesses that are more serviced based such as Law Firms, Dentists, Marketing Firms, Real Estate Agents, may not see as much of an impact due to pay per click advertising, as TRUST is a key factor for choosing these firms, as opposed to proximity or even cost.  For these service based businesses, REFERRALS and Networking are KEY, followed by traditional online marketing (videos, social media, email campaigns, web design, graphic design). We recommend Paid Yelp ads should come as the last step of the puzzle for these types of businesses.

The most important thing I look for in a business referral partner is a good personality fit. If I feel comfortable and trusting of someone, and I enjoy being in their company, two people on the same wavelength can prove to be valuable. It really comes down to your gut instinct on this one! (more) With a service based business usually there is nothing to return except a portion of the clients’ payment or their digital data. This could be based on a customer satisfaction issue, or the company not fully completing the project. In the age of transparency, some states such as California require companies to disclose how they handle confidential content such as proprietary documents, email addresses, etc. You can describe here how those items would be returned, deleted, or handled once service has ceased. This can be listed in the Privacy Policy of your website. Also, it should be made clear in your contracts/legal agreements: 1) What happens if only some work is completed? For instance we require a non-refundable deposit to start work, followed by a sliding scale with the right to bill based on a percentage of the remaining work to be completed. 2) What happens if a service such as graphic design is performed to create a logo, but the client isn't happy with the final result, has exceeded the allowed revisions, and doesn't want to pay for more versions? In this case, it should be spelled out if the client is on the hook for the full amount whether they are satisfied with the full version or not. 3) Whether it is logos, brochures, email campaigns, or social media posts, artistic design, or editing of copy, agreements should include how many revisions are allowed, and the price for additional revisions beyond those limits. Setting expectations and limits in the beginning will help eliminate or prevent most disagreements over when and if a partial or a full refund of a client payment is warranted.
