How We Got Started

I’m grateful every time a business chooses to work with Arnold Consulting. Most organizations already have an IT provider, so I approach every new partnership with humility and a commitment to earn trust through reliable service and clear communication.

Arnold Consulting began in 2005 with a small group of SMB clients and has grown steadily ever since. What started as computer and network support has evolved into a focused Disaster Recovery / Business Continuity practice—built around prevention, tested recovery, and practical planning.

Our services include firewalls and endpoint security, data backup and restore testing, recovery planning, and full-disk encryption. Today, most of our work centers on disaster recovery—helping businesses protect their networks and build plans that keep them operating through unexpected events. Encryption is a newer offering and expanding quickly, especially for regulated industries.

We also provide network administration and network design for smaller

I know that when I get a new customer – someone lost a customer. That kind of knowledge is humbling.  So, when a new business comes in house,  I treat them like part of a community, my community.  I keep my ears open for referral business for them,  and I try to facilitate my business helping each other – I have a business to run, it is not about me, more about how can I serve.

Our company specializes in disaster recovery and business continuity systems. We backup all of our customers, and talk about certain what if's situations with them all the time. We have hourly backups on site, and last backup of the day goes offsite to a different facility. However, most companies never do the planning. BackBlaze conducted a survey from 2008 to 2011 and found some really interesting results: 35% of computer owners have NEVER backed up their computer. 51% of computer owners backup less than once a year (or never.) 2% backup more frequently than once-per-day I have to believe this is true. One morning a couple of weeks ago, I got a call from a business at 6:30AM, and they indicated their computer would not start. After some trouble shooting, we did manage to get it going. I asked them if they had a backup, and after about 30 seconds they said no.  Remember the BackBlaze survey was finished in 2011, and I think these stats are still true today.  The solutions do not work unless they are invested in.

(more) I think finding a software solution is premature, and is the very last thing our company talks about. Disaster recovery is a planning process for the worst case outage.  You may find a software vendor that will back you up, but the best disaster recovery software is only as good as the plan and the reasoning behind it. Here are a few questions to ask in planning for disaster recovery / business continuity in an organization: What is the Recovery Time Objective -- How quick do systems need to be restored. What is the Recovery Point Objective - How much data can an organization stand to lose? Do you need backup hardware? If an important server fails in the organization what do you do. If the fire sprinklers goes off in the building: Where are the data backups stored? Testing the backups: Are the current backups working, and can they be tested.  They might work for what you need. Disaster recovery is taking a step back and thinking about what it would take to run the business if the worst case happened. If it is done correctly, and the right questions are asked before a disaster, the business will survive.  We have several different solutions, and use the best one for the customer, case by case, after we go through the planning process. We also use hardware redundancies where needed both on and off site. Rick Arnold  -- Arnold Consulting

I am thinking you have a customer base. Take a look at your base and figure out if they have regional training or trade shows and get a booth with a nice computer demonstration of what you do send me a private message and talk further.
