Congress must not overlook sole proprietorships with no staff, just self for their stimulus package.  We are at a disadvantage; we aren't eleigible for unemployment, as a single person, not elegible for welfare, there is no safety net.  So we need the "200 dollars when we pass go!"  Also not eligible for loans, as we have no staff.  "We" is me, and other sole propiertorships who are in the same boat.  Living off our credit cards, and running out of time to get things going again.

It appears to be part of the plan to rebuild America. Sadly, they're pressuring people to "go work for someone else", the old philosophy of 1950-70s.... :(

I am experiencing the same exact problem.
I have no idea what to do to try and get relief. Being self employed with 0 employees is a huge disadvantage when it comes to getting help to survive.

Yes, Yes, YES. This is true for SO many people, including myself. I'm a solopreneur who teaches voice lessons, and was doing well before the pandemic hit. Upon moving to virtual lessons, many people opted out because virtual lessons just aren't the same and they didn't want to deal with the technology of it. My income is less than half of what it was pre-Covid, and I'm running out of savings to stop the gap. Sadly, for many of us solopreneurs, on top of getting no assistance through regular unemployment, welfare, and no other kind of safety net, many sole proprietors who should have gotten assistance through the Pandemic Unemployment Assistance and the CARES Act Fund, got nothing because they work a second job to make ends meet, and that disqualified them, even though the stated purpose of those programs was to help sole proprietors and small businesses. It's a dire situation for so many of us, and it doesn't appear that there will be any help in sight any time soon. I have little faith in this next round of assistance... they can use all the pretty words they want to tickle our ears and try to pacify us, but until those words are backed up with real action - where the real people who need it (all of us!) get the help they need - they are just empty words and hollow promises.
