Events by Erin is an event and coordinating business based in Eugene, Oregon. The owner, Erin Rice, has participated and lead a wide variety of events throughout her career, including, but not limited to, festivals, outdoor concerts and other outdoor events with thousands of attendees; conferences, galas, vendor markets and fundraisers with hundreds of people involved, as well as weddings of all sizes, and large memorial services.
After working at a special park and recreation district for 14 years (special meaning they were not associated with a city or county), Erin decided to move in the direction of owning her own business and doing work that she was more passionate about and that allowed her more growth and freedom. Thus, Events by Erin was born.
Erin has two college degrees – a bachelor’s of science degree and a master’s degree. Although neither of these are in events or hospitality, they helped Erin gain a substantial number of skills that are applicable to her current business. Erin’s work at the park and recreation district gave her skills in working with a wide variety of people, both coworkers and public, multitasking but staying organized, working within a budget, researching lower prices or more inexpensive ways to accomplish the same effect, handling graphic design for print materials, and juggling a large number of events or timelines at one time.
