Folkways Imports, Inc.
Folkways’ mission is to engender joy, by providing beautiful products and a pleasurable buying experience to our customers and by engaging with and supporting our community.
Our boutique offers a carefully curated collection of clothing, jewelry, accessories and gifts, each item chosen to enhance your experience.
Customers describe their visits to Folkways as being like a journey into a jewelry box or an art gallery. Colors are vivid and rich. Each rack has a beautiful ensemble displayed on its end, combining styles, textures, colors, shapes and accessories to create a pleasing whole. We have the most beautiful scarf collection in the area and our leather goods are gorgeous.
Folkways sales associates are never pushy – each genuinely cares about you and loves helping identify the perfect outfit or item, whether you are heading to the opera, a play, a Mozart Players concert or the Bach Festival, driving to Ashland for the Shakespearean Festival, planning a wedding or birthday, preparing a business pitch for the board or investors, meeting a friend for brunch, or traveling to exotic locations.
We focus on quality – our Tianello, Habitat, Fridaze, Fenini, Cut Loose, CMC/Click, Johnny Was, Citron, Parsley & Sage, FLAX and other clothing lines are primarily made in the U.S., designed to not only be stylish, but to last. We seek fabrics that are breathable, soft and supple, and produced sustainably. Imported items are Fair Trade and we feature local jewelers and designers along with beautiful and collectable Firefly, Saraswati and Ayala Bar pieces. You will find washable linen, Tencel, cotton, bamboo and silk.
Never like a department store, we seek to nurture Eugene by providing a unique experience. Gift wrap, shipping and personalized shopping advice are always available.
Folkways was founded in 1978 by Jim Poverman and Pamela Griffin, who collected beautiful folk art from their travels around the world and established a store to commercialize those items.
