With all the social media available to identify motivated buyers and to reach out to strangers, a well-organized person can simply "follow up" on buying signals generated by marketing. The one essential ingredient in a recipe for successful sales is passion. You have to believe in your product or service with all your heart. No one else will believe if you don't. Good luck.
