My heart goes out to this hero. I'm grateful for our firefighters, medics, police and others who risk their lives and health to save people and property. It's also true that all entrepreneurs are heroes in their own way. It takes a lot of courage and expertise to put ourselves out there and do great marketing and sales. I've found that while strategies and tactics are important (like a website, facebook, twitter, etc...) it's the target market and message that's critical to get results (paying clients). Absolutely. It's not only possible, but very important to put our negative moods aside when dealing with clients. Bad news travels 10 times faster than good news. We want our clients to have a wonderful experience and to be able to solve their problems and help them with what they want. It's vital for us as service providers to be present, listen and focus on what our customer wants.
I'm not saying to ignore your feelings. Absolutely feel, validate and honor your feelings. When you process them and what you vocalize is a different story.
It does take practice. At first it can take a couple of minutes, and now I can change my emotion/vibration in 30 seconds or less. Simply feel your feelings as a first step - where are they in your body? How do they feel? What words would you use to describe them? Then breathe in deeply and slowly exhale fully a few times. Then ask or pray (whatever your belief system is) that you be guided to your highest self and to act and speak in the best interest of your client.
This works every time. It gets you out of your head and present with the right intention. Later you can do whatever you need to do to process your emotions in a healthy way.

The next step is to take your BIG goals and break them down into daily actions. For example, if you want to make $10,000 a month in your business, that's $2,500 a week or $500 a day. How many leads and how many clients is that for you? What are the marketing actions that need to be done on a daily or weekly basis to reach those numbers? Set your success formula and follow it on a daily basis. Calendar and highly prioritize the business development activities so they don't get lost in your "busyness".

The answer is "absolutely yes". I had a mentor that says "plan your divorce while you're still in love" ... I don't particularly like that notion, but the concept is important. Talk about your agreements, write them down, have a lawyer review them and have all parties understand and sign the...

Talk about your agreements, write them down, have a lawyer review them and have all parties understand and sign the document. The lawyer is important because they see all the "what if's" and can help guide you in random things you might not think about ... what if someone dies? doesn't do what they say they will do? changes their mind? falls deathly ill? etc... and often the heir to a business partner isn't the best choice for succession ...
