This has been weighing on me lately. How many of you have built something you're proud of, but if I asked, "Do you have legal protection for your contracts, financial security if revenue stopped tomorrow, and a plan for your physical and digital safety?" you'd hesitate? I've interviewed hundreds of founders, and the pattern I keep seeing is brilliance in the business, blindness in the gaps. Just curious if anyone else feels this🤔.

All the time. Sometimes it feels like You are stumbling Around in the dark, but every once in a while, somebody comes along That lights your way and you feel a lot better. I do try to be one of those people, and I sense you are too. What I tell everybody is Don't ever be afraid to Ask a question or admit you don't know something. It's the first step to solving your problem. I guarantee Two things will happen. First, somebody else always feels that way too. They don't know, and they're afraid to ask. Secondly, The solution to your problem. He's one somebody else has found before. Go ahead. Ask a question. There's no such thing as a dumb one! And anybody who doesn't answer your question. All of them, because there is more than one usually. Isn't worth spending your time with. Go right on to the next person until you find the answer you need. Not the one you want. The one you need. Just thinking out loud. Good morning, everybody!
One thing that I see is people hate to ask a question so they don't come off as not having their personal and business lives together. I'm 60 years old and I just started, in the last 2-3 years, running 2 home-based businesses and my legacy doesn't thrive unless I ask myself and/or the next person a hard or dumb question. Success can't be achieved in the same space as fear. When you ask questions it provides more clarity to what's your next level, what's your next goal, and what direction I take now. The only thing I ask is when Ms Joyce asks you a question or two please understand that the answer isn't just for me but for the people behind or beside me too.
Great insight and so very true, unfortunately. AI cannot provide legal contracts that are sufficient to protect business owners and no one thinks they need an attorney until there is a problem. Although it's less money for me and my business, I'd much rather see companies spend a little bit of money at the beginning to ensure protection than a ton of money trying to repair an issue or, worse, litigate one.
I think my business is a bit differentÂ
I’m insured and my entertainment too.
Not at all. I built a business that creates income for life for each investor - including me. Everyone needs a place to live or an investment to create income. If revenue stops we foreclose & sell the property. That profit & return of our principal allows us to invest in more Mortgage Notes.
As your technology partner that something that I think about often and very deeply because what happens if the data and IP that I create get lost or damaged or need to be recovered immediately. So that is definitely something as a Fractional Chief Technology officer that you have to keep on the forefront of your mind.Â
